Colton Tooley Identified as Gunman in University of Texas Shooting Rampage

A 19 year old sophomore studying Math as his major, Colton Tooley was named by the local authorities as the suspect behind the shooting at the University of Texas. To date, the police force still has not disclosed the motives behind the action in the UT shooting.

On Tuesday, a hooded man with a dark suit went on a shooting rampage using an assault rifle. He started firing shots close to a fountain fronting the UT tower and then fleeing through the library before killing himself.

During the incident, no one was hurt but the academy catering to 50,000 students had to be closed for some time to pave the way for the crime scenes to be checked. Additionally, there was a confusion as to the number of suspects as there were several shots fired in different locations and eye witnesses gave different descriptions. Bomb-sniffing dogs were also used to check on the school vicinity.

Separate statements issued by the family and high school principal of Colton Tooley described him as a very smart and respectful person. Both parties expressed disbelief on the UT shooting.
